Hi everybody. I am a Bilingual Kindergarten/1st Grade teacher at Bastian Elementary. I just want to share with all of you, full of enthusiasm, that my students are always looking forward to do the Activity Works. (Me too – I have no time in my life at this point to exercise, and the Activity Works has help me a bit, I think ? as well as it has made my body ache lol)

My students love the program already. It has only been three days and they want to exercise on the weekend, too. I love the music, beat, and positive children in the videos. I find the children much calmer and relaxed physically and mentally. It works for me too!!!! Thanks!

I have noticed that after the students do the 10 minute workout they are able to focus better on their classwork. They seem calmer and more relaxed.

Some of the wonderful things I have noticed since implementing Activity Works are that students' physical stamina have increased, where as in the beginning some students would tire quickly, students are able to focus better on their class work after the exercises, silly or disruptive behavior fizzled down after students exerted their energy during the exercises, students learned some content specific vocabulary introduced in the segments (e.g. Colonial America, The Human Body), and of course students seemed happier and confident during the Activity Works lessons. Overall, its a wonderful program that integrates physical, emotional, and academic success!

I have noticed that the children seem more alert and engaged during lessons that occur after the exercise time since the implementation of Activity Works. The exercises are fun and stimulating. My students have been able to take the information they acquired from Activity Works and apply it to other subject areas, and point out when we read about something that they have already learned through Activity Works.

I like to use the program right after lunch as the weather has kept the children from outdoor recess. I love the learning component! It really helps to focus the activity and create a shared learning experience. After a “Trip to the Museum” or a walking tour of the United States, the children are ready to get to work!

Activity Works is helpful in waking up the students and getting a boost of energy either early in the morning or toward the end of the day when kids tend to reach a lull. I have a self contained special education class that does not do well with transition so I hold PE in the classroom and alternate between audio and video. It works very well with them and has helped improve their auditory skills.
